Behind the Scenes Fun
- Hobbies: Traveling, exploring the local hotspots (I move every few years), adventures with friends
- Favorite book: More of a movie guy really, so I would have to say my top 3 favorite movies are (in no particular order):
- Back to the Future (arguably the perfect movie)
- The Legend of 1900 (less known but incredible movie)
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (because I love Christmas and Harry Potter is great)
- Guilty pleasure: I am not sure I could turn down tortilla chips with cheese dip, and frankly I am a little insulted that you think I should.
- Go-to road trip song: There are so many but I usually get started with “Brandy” by Looking Glass or “I2I” by Tevin Campbell (most iconically performed in A Goofy Movie)
- Pets: N/A

In Conversation: Insights From the Virayo Team
We talked with Jake about his role in SEO account management and his accomplishments, and enjoyed some classic Jake from Virayo humor. Here are some highlights of our conversation.

Q: Hi there! Please introduce yourself. Who are you, what is your title, and how long have you worked with us?
I am Jake from Virayo, I am an SEO Account Manager. I have been Jake from Virayo for just over 2 years.
Q: Thanks for sharing! 🙂 Can you tell us more about what your role involves?
I work with clients, make sure to keep the ball rolling, and communicate between the production team and clients to make sure the campaigns are seamless.
Q: What are some of your favorite parts of what you do?
I love to collaborate with my teammates.
Q: Very cool! What’s been the biggest learning opportunity in your role so far?
We have the opportunity to create the company that we would like to see grow into a career.

Q: Do you have any particular accomplishments you are most proud of?
Working with one of our SaaS startup clients in the athletics niche to build out an SEO strategy that would allow them to quickly capture market share from the industry leader. This involved building out a targeted keyword strategy, planning the most scalable URL structure, and then devising page and post templates that could be used to not only scale content production, but also rank for high intent keywords.
After closely working with the internal marketing team to guide them through this process, within 60 days the company was already starting to steal rankings from more mature competitors. Now, just a few months later, this young company is dominating the SERPs and generating meaningful pipeline from organic search.

We have really cool swag.

All of them.
Q: What’s your favorite aspect(s) of our culture and team dynamic?
I think its neat that we have an Australian guy with a hardcore accent on the team.
Q: Now let’s have a little fun! Do you have any secret talents?
I do not, but I have played drums for almost 20 years.

I drink lots of coffee and always try to show up to meetings on time.
